1954
Company establishes first production line for the assembly of 3-band Radio Receivers.
1956
Assembly of new 9-band AC/DC Radios is started.

1958Company succeeds in manufacturing three sizes of amplifiers of 20W, 40W & 60W output.
1958MECO Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (S.I.T.E.) factory is purchased, consisting of two production wings. Manufacture of Water Heaters of 6 & 15 gallons/hour capacity starts.
1960A new production wing is constructed. Manufacture of Stereo Amplifiers starts.
1961A succession of revolutionary new products are introduces. Intercom sets of 10 channels are manufactured (for the first time in Pakistan). Production of Water Coolers of 5 gallons/hour capacity begins.
1962The Company develops and markets and indigenous Electric Kettle.
1963Production of Electric Irons begins.
1964Progressive manufacture of Water Heater is continued, and the company produces Water Heaters up to a capacity of 80 gallons/hour.
1967
A big year for the company, as assembly and manufacture of its first Black & White 19" Television starts.
1968Large capacity Electric Water Coolers are made for the first time.
1970Different models are added to its already expanding Television line and 23" B&W Television sets are introduced.
1973
Home Appliances take the lead this year, and 200 gallon capacity Water Coolers are produced.
1976Manufacture of Televisions working on AC current begins. In 20" B&W type, DEPOC type sets with sensor tuners are produced.
1977
With the telecasting of colour TV programs, MECO starts the production of 20" colour TV sets.
1980
Being granted the license to manufacture Air Conditioners, MECO commences production in 3 different sizes.
1981The Company expands its products line by introducing single door refrigerators.
1983
Refrigerators of 260 litres capacity made for the first time in Pakistan.

 

1987The eighth new branch office starts in Faisalabad.
1988
Another new company, Union General Appliances (UGA) is added to the group, for the manufacture of Deep Freezers and other consumer appliances.
1990Introduction of plastic top for complete range of water coolers.
1993Conversion of ABS plastic bases for all water cooler models.
1997Use of stainless steel front for water cooler models.
1998High-capacity compressors, using ozone-friendly refrigerants introduced.
2000
Introduction of bottle-type water cooler models.
